Visitors to the Playroom

The older children have had some interesting visitors to the playroom this week. Our local bookshop ‘Far from the madding Crowd’ arranged for an author to come in and share her stories with the children – Lynne Rickards. She read her story ‘Pink’ about a little penguin who turns pink and finds it hard to fit in with his friends. We also discovered that she is the author of some of our favourite puffin books – ‘Skye the Puffling’ and ‘Harris the Hero’.
Later in the week our friend – Lily the Park Ranger came to chat with us about the animals in Autumn. We learned about hibernation and migration.
