The older children have chosen to play in the wild woods this week. There has been lots of fun and learning. Children have followed their own interests – some choosing to join the ‘ fire crew’ – building fires to keep warm and learning about personal safety. Others have explored safety by ‘ risk assessing’ how high they can climb in the trees, also developing their gross motor skills. Our mud kitchen is very popular – children have been making ‘ ice cakes’ – using cake cases to put water and leaves etc. in then leaving them to ‘set’ over night. So much learning about science, materials, temperatures and endless amounts of fun.
