The 2nd floor children have been very excited about the pumpkin growing in our nursery garden. They have been checking it’s progress everyday – watching it getting bigger and change colour. Last week we brought it into nursery and left it beside the window so it could get lots of sunshine! Now it is a lovely orange colour – just like the pumpkins in the shops. This is a fabulous learning experience for our children – observing where food actually comes from (before it reaches the shops), experiencing the passing of time, talking about size, shape and colour.
